Richard has specialized in the valuation, value planning, and sale of “mid-sized” businesses. In addition, he has personally supervises strategic acquisition searches for selected client corporations. Richard has been an active member of the board of directors of a number of close-held business. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from his personal ownership of businesses over the years. He has had varied direct management responsibilities in public companies and private enterprises, and has advisory experiences in start-up companies, turn-around situations, and transaction management.

Richard holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Prior to starting Management Services & Development, Ltd., he served as in engineering and financial management positions for several fortune five-hundred corporations, and owned and operated three manufacturing businesses. In addition, he  taught at Wentworth College, Rollins College, and IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), as well as for the M & A Source, the largest international organization of middle-market business intermediaries.
